From Punjab to Minnesota, flavor without borders

Two brothers from Mand Mour, Punjab brought the warmth of Punjabi cooking to Minnesota — and built eight restaurants on that dream over the past two decades.

A dream carried from Punjab

In 1992, brothers Tirlochan and Paramjit Mand boarded a plane from Mand Mour, Punjab with minimal luggage and a clear purpose: to bring the vibrant, aromatic flavors of home to the United States. For four years they worked at their elder brother's restaurant, learning not just how to cook, but how to build something that lasts.

Their first venture — King Restaurant in Fishers, Indiana — closed within six months, but the brothers didn't see defeat; they saw a roadmap. They relocated to Minnesota, and just two months later, they were ready to try again.

In November 2003, Tirlochan and Paramjit opened India Palace in Eden Prairie — serving tandoori meats, handmade naan, and 20+ vegetarian dishes seasoned with the family's own spices. The restaurant quickly earned a feature in Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's restaurant guide.

What began as one dining room in Eden Prairie has grown into eight restaurants across Minnesota and North Dakota. Every location carries the same promise: Punjabi cooking made with care, spiced to your preference, and served with genuine hospitality.
